Survivor fantasy scoring, explained

What earns points in Survivor fantasy and why: immunity, idols, votes, the jury and the finale, with the real point values Pick the Cast parties start with.

By the Pick the Cast team · Updated

Survivor fantasy scoring turns what you watch into points: who wins immunity, who finds an idol, who reads the vote right, and who survives to the end. Here is how Pick the Cast scores a season, why each event is worth what it is, and a worked example so you can check your own math.

When points start

Scoring starts with the episode after the merge. Picks are due by the end of the merge episode, so counting earlier episodes would reward people for picking with hindsight. Pre-merge episodes still record who left; they’re just worth 0.

The four things that score

Challenges

Individual immunity is worth +5 and individual reward +3. Immunity is worth more because it changes the vote. Winning fire-making at the final four adds +5; losing it costs 5.

Strategy

Finding a hidden immunity idol is +5, and playing one that actually cancels votes is +7. Playing an idol that saves nobody costs 3. Advantages work the same way: +4 to find one, +5 to use it well. Voting for the person who goes home is +2; voting for someone who stays is −2.

Tribal Council

Leaving Tribal with zero votes is +2. Surviving after receiving votes is +3, but each vote against your castaway costs 1. Getting voted out costs 10 plus the votes. Going home with an idol in your pocket costs an extra 7, and with an unplayed advantage −5.

The finale

This is where seasons are decided. Reaching Final Tribal Council is +10, each jury vote is +3, and winning the season is +20. A winner with seven jury votes adds 51 points in the finale alone (10 + 7 × 3 + 20), which is why a castaway who lasts usually beats one who burns bright and goes home.

A worked example

Say it’s the first episode after the merge, and you picked two castaways. (These are made-up events, to show the math.)

  • Your first pick wins individual immunity (+5), votes with the majority (+2) and gets no votes (+2): +9 for the episode.
  • Your second pick finds an idol (+5), receives three votes (3 × −1) but survives (+3), and votes for someone who stays (−2): +3.

Your team scores +12 that week. If your second pick had been voted out instead, holding that idol, the episode would have cost them −17.

Exits that aren’t a vote

Quitting or being removed for conduct scores −10. A medical evacuation scores 0, because nobody chose it. Either way, the castaway stays on your team and stops scoring.

Every scoring event

These are the values every Pick the Cast party starts with. A host can change any of them before the party starts; once it starts, scoring is locked for the season.
