Pick two couples after premiere week and score every 10, every close call and every step toward the Mirrorball.
Celebrities are paired with professional dancers and perform a live routine each week, scored 1 to 10 by each judge. Judges' scores are combined with viewer votes cast during the live broadcast to decide which couples are in jeopardy and who is eliminated. The finalists dance in a live finale, and the winners take home the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy.

Rules
The proposed rulebook for when Dancing with the Stars opens.
Picks and the lock
Each player picks two couples still in the competition. Picks lock at 11:59 PM after the last premiere-week show and can't be changed after you confirm. Several players may pick the same couple.
A pick is the celebrity's entry
If the pro partner changes because of injury, suspension or a special week, your pick stays with that celebrity's couple.
When scoring starts
Scoring runs from Week 2 through the finale. Premiere week doesn't score.
Leaderboards and two-night weeks
Top and bottom of the leaderboard use each night's judges' total for the couple's own routines, including any bonus points shown. Each night of a two-night week counts on its own.
Guest judges and perfect scores
10s from guest judges count. A perfect score means every judge on that night's panel gave a 10.
No-elimination weeks
10s, perfect scores and leaderboard points still count, but nobody earns the survival points that night. Carried-over scores are never counted twice.
Jeopardy
In-jeopardy and survived-jeopardy points are given only when the broadcast names the couples at risk. Vote counts are never used.
Eliminations and withdrawals
Eliminated couples score -10 and nothing after. Medical withdrawals score 0. Other withdrawals or removals score -10. Picks are never replaced.
Replacements and returns
A replacement celebrity is a new couple that can't be picked after the lock. A couple brought back after elimination keeps its -10 and scores again from the night it returns.
Finale
Every finalist gets the finale bonus. Third place, runner-up and the Mirrorball winner earn more on top. Finale routines still earn 10s and perfect scores.
Ties
Equal totals share a rank. Hosts can turn on a display-only tie-breaker: more finale points first, then more perfect scores.
Official voting
Pick the Cast is a fan game and never collects, relays or rewards official show votes. Fantasy points come only from what airs.
Source of truth and corrections
Results come from the live ABC and Disney+ broadcast and publish after the show ends. Any correction is audited and recalculated for every party.
