Squid Game: The Challenge
Renewed. The premiere date hasn’t been announced.
Scout the first batch, then lock four players you trust to survive every game that follows.
A reality competition based on the drama Squid Game in which, in seasons 1 and 2, 456 players competed for $4.56 million. Players are eliminated in games drawn from the drama and in dormitory tests that force choices, votes and gambles, until one player is left standing. Season 3, retitled Squid Game: The VIP Challenge, adds eight celebrity players.

How it will work
The proposed format for when Squid Game: The Challenge opens. Details can change before launch.
Scout the first batch
Watch the first batch of episodes. They don't score, so use them to see who is still in and who looks built for the games.
Pick four before batch two
Choose four players who are still in before the second batch is released. Picks then lock for the rest of the season.
Score every game
Your players earn points for surviving games and tests, winning head-to-heads and earning advantages. They lose points when they're eliminated.
Finale bonus
Finalists, the runner-up and the winner earn the biggest bonuses. The highest total in your party wins.
Your players, your party.
Pick four players, then follow them all season. Every result moves the standings in your private party.

Proposed point values. They may change before the show opens.

- Won an advantage (per advantage)+4

- Named captain or leader (per time)+2
- Eliminated a player by choice (per player)+2

Rules
The proposed rulebook for when Squid Game: The Challenge opens.
Four picks
Everyone in your party chooses exactly four players who are still in after the first batch. Picks can overlap, and they stay hidden until the lock.
Scouting round, then lock
The first batch of episodes doesn't score. Picks lock at the release time of the second batch, checked against the server clock, and can't be changed afterwards.
Games and tests
Each main game a player survives is worth 4, and each test that eliminated someone else is worth 1. Winning a one-on-one or pair contest adds 2.
Choices and advantages
An advantage, perk or power is worth 4. Being named captain or leader, being saved by another player, or eliminating a player by choice is worth 2 each. Each vote received in an elimination vote costs 1.
Eliminations
Being eliminated costs 5, including sacrificing yourself inside a game. If the show doesn't show a player's exit, it's scored in the episode where the show first confirms it.
Finale
Every player in the finale scores 10. The runner-up scores 8 instead of losing 5, and the winner scores 25.
VIPs
Celebrity VIPs are picked and scored like every other player. Any VIP-only perk scores as an advantage.
Voluntary exits and removals
Leaving the competition outside a game, or being removed by production, scores -10. Leaving for medical reasons scores 0. Either way, the player stops scoring.
Returning players
A player brought back during the season keeps the -5, scores 6 for returning and scores again for every team that picked them. Players from earlier seasons are normal picks.
If the release is different
If Netflix drops the whole season at once or the cast is small, picks become 3 announced players locked at the premiere and every episode scores. We'll announce this before picks open.
Late joiners
Members can join until the second batch is released. Nobody can join after that.
Ties
Members with the same total share a rank. Parties can turn on tiebreakers: the pick who went furthest, then more finale points.
Results and corrections
Results come from the released episodes, matched by player number. Corrections are logged with a reason, standings recalculate, and anyone whose score changed gets one notice.
Host settings
Hosts can adjust point values until the lock and make audited pick corrections with a reason.
